Good morning!

Spring is almost here... and farm life is showing it!

Just last week we got our first batch of day-old-chicks to raise in the "brooder" till the weather is warm enough and they are big enough to get out in the fresh grass and sunshine.

My wife and I had fun showing chicks to Kataya for the first time. She loved them and even held one little fuzz ball for a bit!

Spring farm life aside... now on to broth-based recipes.

I love all 3 of these recipes so it's hard to know which one to give top priority on this email. :)

I guess the honor is going to land on Mom's easy-to-make Scrapple recipe even though it's not brand new. Pork broth is one of the main ingredients and we actually have it available right now!

Kaylita, followed this recipe the other day and we were both surprised how scrumptious it was served with a breakfast of eggs fried in woodland pork lard.

Mom's easy-to-make Scrapple

If you never made your own scrapple... now is your chance to give it a try! It truly is just a few easy steps and the result is one of my favorite breakfast foods. Yes, even better than bacon & eggs! :)

Just be sure to blend the sausage very fine so it's almost a paste. If you don't get it fine enough the scrapple texture can be strange.

Classic French Onion Soup Recipe

French-Onion-Soup.jpg

We love this rich, deeply flavored Classic French Onion Soup! It's not only mouth-wateringly delicious, it also packed with wonderful nutrition to boost your immune system.

One of my favorite things about this recipe is the way you can choose different broth flavors to add a unique twist each time you make it. Switch out 2 cups of beef broth for 2 cups of chicken broth... or mix in a cup of Epic Chipotle Beef Broth for an added layer of spice... or maybe even use all chicken broth.

Your imagination is the limit!

Pottenger's Cats: Book Review

During the 1930s, Dr Francis Pottenger Jr. who was a medical doctor in California, conducted nutritional/feeding experiments with 900 cats over a 10 yr period. Here is a summary one of his many feeding trials: The cats in each group were fed 1/3 meat and 2/3 milk. The meat that each group received was always raw but the milk they received was variable. Some groups of cats received raw milk, others pasteurized milk, others evaporated milk, still others sweetened condensed milk. The cats on raw milk exhibited Vibrant Health, meanwhile...

Nutrition Facts and the Bikini Atoll

One question we hear is, "Why are the Nutrition Facts on raw milk so similar to the Nutrition Facts on pasteurized milk?" The similarity of the two ‘Nutrition Facts’ would seem to support the FDA mantra that there are no nutritional differences between pasteurized milk and raw milk.
