Good morning!

Spring is almost here... and farm life is showing it!

Just last week we got our first batch of day-old-chicks to raise in the "brooder" till the weather is warm enough and they are big enough to get out in the fresh grass and sunshine.

My wife and I had fun showing chicks to Kataya for the first time. She loved them and even held one little fuzz ball for a bit!

See our Spring Chicks Photo Story to get your own virtual tour. :)

Spring farm life aside... now on to broth-based recipes.

I love all 3 of these recipes so it's hard to know which one to give top priority on this email. :)

I guess the honor is going to land on Mom's easy-to-make Scrapple recipe even though it's not brand new. Pork broth is one of the main ingredients and we actually have it available right now!

Kaylita, followed this recipe the other day and we were both surprised how scrumptious it was served with a breakfast of eggs fried in woodland pork lard.

Mom's easy-to-make Scrapple

If you never made your own scrapple... now is your chance to give it a try! It truly is just a few easy steps and the result is one of my favorite breakfast foods. Yes, even better than bacon & eggs! :)

Just be sure to blend the sausage very fine so it's almost a paste. If you don't get it fine enough the scrapple texture can be strange.

Classic French Onion Soup Recipe

French-Onion-Soup.jpg

We love this rich, deeply flavored Classic French Onion Soup! It's not only mouth-wateringly delicious, it also packed with wonderful nutrition to boost your immune system.

One of my favorite things about this recipe is the way you can choose different broth flavors to add a unique twist each time you make it. Switch out 2 cups of beef broth for 2 cups of chicken broth... or mix in a cup of Epic Chipotle Beef Broth for an added layer of spice... or maybe even use all chicken broth.

Your imagination is the limit!

Comforting Chicken Noodle Soup with Homemade Noodles

Chicken-Noodle-Soup.jpg

What is more comforting and healing than a steaming bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup on a cold winter day?

This soup is hearty, nutrient-dense, and chock-full of flavor!

Homemade noodles are delicious, simple to make, and you have full control of all the ingredients.

Get started with this recipe!

We'd love to hear from you which of these recipes is your favorite... Just send us an email to let us know. :)

Happy cooking!

Ground Breaking News at Family Cow farm!

After 3 long years of planning, today we literally have ground breaking news to share with you all! :) The temporary 'reefer trailers' we've been using as our Family Cow facilities since 2008 will finally be replaced by an actual building! We are thankful for how well our 'reefers' served us for the last 17 years, but it's past time for this improvement!

Behind the Scenes Video of Order Packing

Good morning friends, Today I have a quick video to show you Behind the Scenes Order Packing at The Family Cow farm! The morning work starts at 5:00 so it's often still dark this time of year... but that doesn't keep everyone from arriving promptly to get your food on the way. Watch now to see how we prepare food each week to go from our family farm to the 54 Pickup Locations across PA so you can get real, clean foods delivered to your community. It's our pleasure to do it for you! :) This footage was shot earlier this year, but I thought now would be a good time to show you what a busy packing morning looks like during the holiday season! We've been scrambling (literally) to get all the orders out the door some mornings... Hopefully before long we can do an expansion project and give us more workspace here at the farm so the packing area isn't so crowded! :) All the best of food and blessings. Your farmer, Wesley

Family Picture Night 2024

It's been two years since our last pasture picture, as our family calls them. Since then, our family has grown by five, so I believe it's high time! But first, just a little nostalgia...
