Good morning!

The long awaited announcement is here...

Our Pastured Chicken is now Corn-FREE as well as Soy-Free! :)

We've been soy-free for years and have heard so many folks expressing thanks and appreciation for it that we decided to take our chicken to the next level.

Say good-bye to Corn Allergies & Sensitivities in chicken! :)

Corn-free is officially here for all sizes of whole birds, parts, and popular boneless skinless chicken breast. The only one that is not totally corn-free yet is the chicken skin since we still have some left from before we made the corn-free switch. It is currently on sale.

We always love to increase the quality of foods coming from our farm to your table but it's hard to find the perfect balance between amazing standards and affordable chicken. Do you value things like corn-free and our commitment to chemical-free chicken feed even if it means a 5-8% price bump next year?

Thankfully we can hold off all price adjustments for now!

In fact, next week we'll offer our best chicken savings of the year to help make freezer space for Thanksgiving Turkeys next month. :)

The new Corn-Free protocol is exciting, but of course, all our other top-notch standards are still in place as well.

Our chicken is always moved to fresh pasture each day, Humanely Raised & Harvested, Chemical-Free, GMO-free, Antibiotic-Free, Soy-Free and now Corn-Free so your family can eat nutrient-dense chicken with confidence.

This daily moving is extremely important since it allows our birds to forage a balanced diet of bugs, grubs, flies and a complete salad bar of grasses along with the clean grains we grow ourselves.

With plenty of forage in the diet, this meat is 3-4 times higher in Omega-3s and CLAs compared to CAFO chicken. Even industrial organic chicken in the grocery stores does not offer this level of nutrients since the birds only have minimal access to a "grass" strip along the edge of a large, stationary barn.

And to top it all off, our family and team hand-butchers our birds on our farm in our zero-waste, mobile butchering wagon. Even the feathers are composted and their nutrients returned to the farm soil.

Since we are the butchers, we never allow Chlorine or any other chemicals anywhere near your chickens! Nothing but a touch of organic apple cider vinegar, Celtic Sea Salt, and ice are used in the chill water.

:-)

It's our goal to treat you like friends and feed you like family.

Your Farmer,
Wesley

Pottenger's Cats: Book Review

During the 1930s, Dr Francis Pottenger Jr. who was a medical doctor in California, conducted nutritional/feeding experiments with 900 cats over a 10 yr period. Here is a summary one of his many feeding trials: The cats in each group were fed 1/3 meat and 2/3 milk. The meat that each group received was always raw but the milk they received was variable. Some groups of cats received raw milk, others pasteurized milk, others evaporated milk, still others sweetened condensed milk. The cats on raw milk exhibited Vibrant Health, meanwhile...

Nutrition Facts and the Bikini Atoll

One question we hear is, "Why are the Nutrition Facts on raw milk so similar to the Nutrition Facts on pasteurized milk?" The similarity of the two ‘Nutrition Facts’ would seem to support the FDA mantra that there are no nutritional differences between pasteurized milk and raw milk.
